The Lindsey Merritt Scholarship Fund

Lindsey Milan Chapman Merritt danced at The Ballet School from 2006-2009.  She was a gifted and vivacious young dancer with a glowing smile and inspirational enthusiasm.  In addition to dance, she was passionate about the environment, animals, her friends, and her family.  Lindsey died of Osteosarcoma on October 7th, 2010.  It was her wish that a scholarship fund be established to help other young dancers who share her unwavering love for ballet to pursue their dreams and achieve their goals.

If you would like to be considered to receive scholarship funds, please contact Elizabeth at elizabeth@theballetschool.com or 207-729-6794.  Recipients are awarded based on their financial need in combination with an obvious passion for ballet.

The Isabelle Manahan Studio Fund

Isabelle Manahan was a joyful, vibrant, and beloved member of The Ballet School community.  She was known for her kindness and enthusiasm, her smile that lit up a room, and her ability to embrace every challenge as an opportunity.  In addition to ballet, Isabelle was passionate about the outdoors, she was an accomplished Alpine and Nordic skier, and found joy in the woods and waters that surrounded her coastal Maine home.  Isabelle was a brilliant light who brought strangers together and made friends even closer.  She lives in the hearts of all those who knew her.  It was her family’s wish that her memorial fund benefit all members of The Ballet School and keep the school thriving through studio enhancements and classroom additions.
